Grammostola rosea(Rose Hair Tarantula)
Common name: Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula
Scientific name: Grammostola rosea
World: New World
Range: Chile/Argentina
Type: Terrestrial
Adult size: 4-5 inches
Temperature: 80-85 degrees
Humidity: 75%
Temperment: Usaully Docile but some can be aggressive.
Speed: Medium
Diet: Young can eat Pinhead crickets,small roaches,or mealworms. Adults can eat large crickets,roaches,superworms and an occasional pinky mouse.
Housing: Adults can be kept in large critter keeper,5 gallon tank,or rubbermaid type containers. Babys can live in small critter keepers or large deli cups.
Substrate: Peat moss or peat soil mix.
Additional info: Rose hairs are the most common species of taranula in the pet trade. Cork bark or logs make good hides for rose hairs
